News: Baruch Halpern joining us at UGA

To friends and colleagues:

I am pleased to be able to announce for the Department of Religion at the University of Georgia that Professor Baruch Halpern has accepted an appointment to the Covenant Foundation Professorship in Jewish Studies here at UGA starting with the Fall 2012 semester.  We (and I personally) are delighted that Professor Halpern is moving here to Athens, GA, to join us.  Our M.A. (in Religion) and Ph.D. (in Linguistics/Religion) programs are already in place, and so we would welcome applications from students whom you think might benefit from working with us.
With good wishes to all,
Richard Elliott Friedman
